CNBC.com recently ranked twelve American cities in order of foot-friendliness, and San Francisco took first prize. New York City came in third (that’s gotta hurt). Other cities featured included Providence, RI (9th place), Honolulu (6th place), and Boston (2nd place).
Predictably, California’s southern half was nowhere to be found on the list. Still, San Francisco’s win is a fantastic example of Californian attitudes – we’re happy to ditch the convenience of cars in order for exercise and fresh air, even during the work-week.
